This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Health Sciences Division that reports to the Dean of Health Sciences.
Salary : $69,680
Schedule: 40-hours per week, on campus, at the Lawrenceville and Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus campus; Monday through Friday; Equal time will be spent at each campus
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10607)
An associate degree in paramedicine or other health related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum TWO years as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic. Current Georgia Paramedic license or NREMT Paramedic, Georgia EMS Instructor, and BLS instructor certification (all must be obtained within 6 months). Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of five years teaching experience in a CoAEMSP Accredited Paramedic Program preferred. PHTLS and PALS instructor certification are preferred. Proficiency in preparation and delivery of instruction, advisement, and curriculum development. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students, in a collegial and multicultural environment. Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs. Experience with online learning modalities preferred. Demonstrated flexibility with diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies.
Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for the implementation and instruction of the Emergency Medical Services program at Gwinnett Technical College. Implementation of program curriculum. Assists in developing and reviewing program syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. . Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts and participates in college and community activities.

Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Construct training modules, tools, materials, supplies and equipment to comply with local requirement for safety and security needs and in accordance with state and federal work safety standards.
• Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
• Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
• Maintain a secure training and work area that proves freedom of movement for students during the performance of work and training assignments and complies with the security requirements of the organization.
• Ensure work-related projects are successfully completed and that they meet industrial standards.
Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
+ Earns required number of CE credits to maintain ARDMS certification.
+ Participates in education meetings, workshops, etc. as requested.

+ Assist in conducting a self-study of the program's compliance with technical college, program and accreditation standards.

• Establish criteria and tests for students in order to measure each student's progress.

Responsible for student clinical rotation assignments and educational equity.
• Evaluate and ensure effectiveness of clinical affiliates
• Create clinical rotations for each student in a timely manner.
• Guide students in completing required clinical paperwork.
• Monitor clinical assignments to assure each student receives comparable clinical experiences.
• Assist in making regular site visits to students during each rotation, evaluating their performance and completing necessary documentation.

• Submit supply and equipment requests as necessary in accordance to established guidelines.
• Perform and maintains classroom inventory according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain an organized and proper supply of classroom instructional materials.
