    BROADWAY CAMP STAGE MANAGER

    JOB SUMMARY:

    _Proctors Collaborative is the largest cultural institution in the Capital Region with performing arts venues in Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga, and education, civic engagement and economic development initiatives throughout the region.  The Collaborative School of the Arts is the education wing of the organization, offering a robust series of training programs, classes and engagement programs in each venue, in schools and throughout the community._

     

    The Collaborative School of the Arts seeks an experienced, creative **Stage Manager** for its Broadway Summer Program, a pre-professional training experience culminating in a full-scale musical on Proctors’ Mainstage. The production features a cast, crew, and orchestra of over 50 high school students from across the Capital Region. Past shows include _Les Misérables, Rent, Into the Woods, Fiddler, The Prom,_ and _Urinetown._ The program runs **July 6–August 1, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.,** with additional evening and weekend show calls. Creative and production staff both lead their area of expertise and mentor students, providing professional training in a collaborative environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Attending production meetings prior to rehearsals.

    + Cueing and calling performances (Lights, Sound, Follow spots, fly system)

    + Coordination and running of rehearsals in collaboration with creative team and CSOA staff.

    + Coordinating crews working with a combination of theater professionals from Proctors and the integration of students from ages 14-19 with a broad range of skill levels. Responsible for rehearsal reports and dissemination of reports.

    + Distributes schedule of all activities and ensures appropriate record keeping and reporting of all rehearsal/ceremony needs.

    + Accountable for ensuring an emotionally and physically safe environment for youth that meets all compliance and safety requirements set forth by the organization.

    + Responsible and professional conduct that serves as role model to staff and youth.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Theatre/Stage Management, equivalent professional experience, or current progress toward a degree.

    + Stage management experience, including coordinating rehearsals and calling performances.

    + Background in musical theatre and/or performance.

    + Demonstrated experience working with diverse youth populations from a variety of racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    + Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a collaborative approach.

    + Skilled in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and fostering positive working relationships.

    + Highly organized, reliable, and punctual, with excellent time management and follow-through.

    + Ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

    + Genuine passion for youth development and the mission of the Collaborative School of the Arts at Proctors.

    CONTRACT PERIOD** **:

    + Pre-production meetings as needed in person or via phone or video conference call. Start date for auditions and limited meetings is February 2026.

    + This is a four-week commitment commencing on July 6 and ending August 1.

    + Program runs from July 6 to August 1 Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

    + Shows on July 31 and August 1 (Friday at 7 pm, and Saturday at 2 pm and 7 pm).

    **PAY RATE:** Stipend $3,000.
