Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a*Nurse Educator (RN)*to play an essential role in shaping the professional growth and clinical excellence of staff by designing and delivering meaningful education and training programs. Working closely with clinical leaders and subject matter experts, the Clinical Educator ensures that staff receive the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care. Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime. /*_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_*/ · Assess clinical training needs by collaborating with department leaders and reviewing existing programs. · Plan, develop, and implement education and training initiatives that align with staff learning needs, patient care requirements, and regulatory standards. · Oversee and maintain clinical competency programs, including role-specific orientation, ongoing training, and specialized education for all staff, contracted personnel, and affiliates. · Develop and deliver facility-wide orientation, annual mandatory training, and just-in-time education for high-risk procedures and unique patient populations. · Collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to create and update policies, procedures, and training materials that support compliance and best practices. · Provide instruction in workplace violence prevention (MANDT), CPR, and other essential clinical skills. · Partner with the Quality Management Department to ensure education and training meet Joint Commission and regulatory requirements. · Monitor, track, and maintain accurate records of staff compliance, competencies, and education files. · Coordinate and deliver training on new clinical equipment and products while promoting educational opportunities across the organization. · Actively participate in audits, committees, and quality improvement initiatives related to clinical education and training. /*_Required Qualifications:_*/ · Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. · Strong knowledge of nursing training methods, techniques, and adult learning principles. · Proven ability to plan, conduct, and evaluate effective education and training programs. · Skill in interpreting and applying laws, rules, and regulations relevant to clinical education and compliance. · Proficiency in preparing and utilizing charts, graphs, tables, and other instructional tools. · Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give and receive clear instructions. · Collaborative team player with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. · Sound judgment and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and guide others in achieving objectives. /*_Preferred Qualifications:_*/ · Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator. · Record of fostering and promoting a learning environment conducive to lifelong learning which promotes critical and reflective thinking, engaging, and developing staff. · Competence in maintaining accurate records and exercise discretion in handling confidential information (HIPAA). · Talent for assisting and working with people of diverse backgrounds. · Strong familiarity with regulatory framework as it relates to the Joint Commission, CMS, Department of Public Health and OSHA standards. /*_DPH Mission and Vision:_*/ The mission of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is to promote and protect health and wellness and prevent injury and illness for all people, prioritizing racial equity in health by improving equitable access to quality public health and health care services and partnering with communities most impacted by health inequities and structural racism.
