    Salary: $80,000-$120,000/year plus bonus

    Overview:

    A specialty materials company is seeking a Customer Solutions Chemist to join their growing team! In this brand new role, you will play a key part in identifying and evaluating new market opportunities for internal R&D teams by bridging the technical gap between external customers & internal departments.

    Responsibilities:

    + Engage with customers and leads (primarily in person) to identify new business opportunities, understand needs, deliver solutions, and gather feedback.

    + Assess customer requirements and promote relevant products, technologies, and capabilities.

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry groups to enhance collaboration and market insight.

    + Track market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity, sharing insights with internal teams.

    + Maintain a market opportunity pipeline in CRM; prioritize projects aligned with company goals.

    + Complete CRM documentation, including call reports, opportunity entries, and pipeline updates.

    + Partner with customers and internal teams to identify unmet needs and develop new product opportunities.

    + Collaborate with Innovation to define technical requirements, ensure feasibility, and support funding efforts via SOWs.

    + Coordinate with Sales, Innovation, and internal teams to ensure excellent customer service.

    + Engage customers on new applications and maintain strong technical knowledge through networking.

    + Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field

    + Industry experience in a technical role with strong customer-focused problem-solving skills

    + Knowledge of adhesive chemistry and/or polymer science preferred

    + Strong marketing and project management skills; CRM experience preferred

    + Able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

    + Committed to confidentiality and professionalism

    + Willing to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
