    Position: Freight Forwarding Supervisor

     

    Compensation: $100,000 Annually

    Job Description:

    The Freight Forwarding Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of account managers and operations agents while overseeing a multi-million-dollar P&L. This role manages customer needs across all modes of domestic transportation, including full truckload (FTL), less than truckload (LTL), white glove delivery, cartage, and hot shot services.

    Core Responsibilities & Duties:

    + Support the hiring, training, and ongoing development of team members

    + Promote a world-class customer service culture across all daily operations

    + Prepare, review, and present weekly and quarterly key performance indicators (KPIs)

    + Ensure compliance with all quality, operational, and safety standards

    + Conduct regular process checks to ensure efficiency, consistency, and operational excellence

    + Provide strategic leadership and direction to a team of direct reports, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives

    + Collaborate with operations and account management teams to drive service excellence, maintain safety compliance, and support process optimization

    + Assist with performance evaluations, risk assessments, and quality investigations

    + Act as a customer-facing representative in meetings, presentations, and ongoing communications

    + Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements & Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

    + 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or related logistics operations

    + Proven experience managing teams in a freight forwarding, distribution, warehouse, or 3PL environment

    + Strong knowledge of supply chain operations and processes

    + Experience developing and monitoring KPI metrics

    + Thorough understanding of safety compliance and hazardous materials practices

    + Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

    + Familiarity with value-added logistics services

    + Understanding of 5S, Lean, or other continuous improvement methodologies

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
