    Sarasota County is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Compliance Coordinator to join our team! This professional and technical role will support our community and housing development programs, including CDBG, ESG, NSP, HOME, SHIP, and other local assistance-based initiatives. As part of our mission to strengthen community resilience and expand housing opportunities, the Compliance Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager and staff on policy and compliance-related tasks. This includes supporting quality assurance and control activities, assisting with program monitoring, reviewing documentation, helping refine program policies and procedures, and maintaining accurate electronic records of program and loan documentation.

     

    In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring program integrity and compliance by assisting with internal policy updates, preparing and routing documentation, and supporting fiscal and administrative functions. You’ll collaborate with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring smooth coordination across departments and effective communication with residents and community members.     About the Position

     

    In this role, you will be responsible for...

    Policy and Compliance Support

    + Assist with developing, reviewing, editing, and maintaining internal policies and procedures for programs and projects.

    + Prepare and route internal correspondence and documentation for program activities, including mortgage satisfaction for loan-based programs.

    + Support quality assurance and control efforts by reviewing reports and communications from homeowners and awardees to ensure compliance with program requirements.

    + Utilize county and external electronic systems to access information, generate reports, and track the progress of program activities.

    + Maintain accurate electronic records by scanning, uploading, and updating project documentation within the county’s system of record.

    Stakeholder Communications

    + Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support program operations, service delivery, and ongoing monitoring of financial assistance programs.

    + Coordinate administrative and budget-related tasks with departmental fiscal staff to ensure effective program and project management.

    + Attend public meetings and workshops, providing clear and positive communication with residents and community members to support program outreach and engagement.

     

    About the Schedule

    Work Hours:

    + Full-time, 40 hours per week.

    + Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ( no weekends! )

     

    As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

     

    About You

    To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

    + Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with 3 years of job-related experience.

    + OR: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with 1 year of job-related experience.

    + OR: 5 years of job-related experience can be substituted for the degree, at management discretion.

    + HQS Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 45 days of employment ( we can help with this! )

    + Strong ability to interpret and apply project policies, procedures, and systems.

    + Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    + Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and presenting information clearly.

    + Proficient in analyzing financial data and preparing comprehensive reports.

    + Demonstrated professionalism and tact when addressing sensitive situations or issues.

     

    Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

    About Everything Else

    Starting Pay Range: $53,456.00 - $58,011.20
