    Duties:

    1.Demonstrate leadership in providing a positive and productive environment for students and staff; place a high priority on the needs and welfare of students in the context of preparing them for success beyond high school.

    2. Assume responsibility for student conduct and discipline.

    3. Assist the principal in the collection, analysis and use of data to improve all aspects of the high school.

    4. Promote sound/effective educational practices that are supported by research; exhibit openness to new ideas

    5. Effectively involve staff, parents, and community members in decision making.

    6. With the principal, develop and implement efficient and effective plans in the following areas:

     

    a) Master scheduling

     

    b) Exam scheduling, proctoring schedules

     

    c) Staff development

     

    d) Student conduct/discipline

     

    e) Opening/closing school

     

    f) Student activities and events-co/extra curricular

     

    g) Use of technology to improve/support instruction, communications

     

    and administration

     

    h) Instruction and assessment

     

    i) Building safety team

     

    j) Student attendance

     

    k) Instructional Support team

    l) Building maintenance

    7. Actively participate in District-wide activities pertaining to a variety of issues including instructional and organizational development

    8. Work collegially and collaboratively with District and building leadership teams

    9. Coordinate components of the schools' Instructional Support Team to monitor students and create appropriate academic and behavioral plans

    10. Attend CSE meetings, 504 meetings, manifestation determination, Superintendent's Hearings or other parent meetings when necessary

    11. Other duties as may be assigned by the principal

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Valid Permanent or Professional NYS Teacher certification.

     

    Minimum of five years of successful experience as a teacher.

    Qualifications Desired:

    Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) certificate and or School District Leader (SDL) or completing coursework to advance to those certifications
