Job Title: 1:1 School Aide

Employment Type: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:

The School Aide is anindividual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioralassistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacherand/or supervising designee. The SchoolAide may also provide support services to assist students with personal,physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by arehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health careprofessional.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide one-on-one instructional support to a hearing-impaired student in an Exceptional Children (EC) classroom setting.

+ Collaborate closely with the Hearing Impaired (HI) Teacher to learn strategies for interpreting and simplifying lesson content.

+ Assist the student in understanding and engaging with classroom activities, assignments, and routines.

+ Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the student’s individual needs.

+ Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure consistent academic and behavioral support

Minimum Requirements

+ High School diploma or equivalent required

+ Recent classroom experiencce

+ Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
