Sportsman Boats, located in Summerville, SC, is looking for a Pre-Mill Construction Carpenter who   will work with the milling operations team in the fabrication of wood and foam plugs and plug builds.  These plugs are a vital part in the production of Sportsman Boat's new product lines.

What you will do:

+ Assist in set up of 5 axis machines for milling large complex parts

+ Fabricate large wood platforms for new plug builds

+ Work with EPS foam, tooling board and other composites to construct plugs to be milled

+ Follow CAD drawing specifications for detailed foam layouts

+ Work with chemicals including epoxy putty, spray glue and 2-part foam

+ Operate a fork lift

+ Keep work area clean and organized at all times

+ Follow safety standards at all times

+ Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you know / have done:

+ High school diploma or GED required

+ Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and work instructions

+ Possess good mechanical aptitude, good manual dexterity, knowledge of tools and their use

+ Experience with carpentry operating air/hand tools, drills, saws, and grinders

+ Task oriented, demonstrated ability to learn, work independently, and under instruction as needed

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Comprehension of chemicals used in this process

+ Good eye sight

+ Strong oral and written communication skills in English

+ Able to work overtime when necessary
