About the Role
We’re seeking a committed and experienced Special Education Teacher to join a middle school team in Kenosha, WI. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction and collaborative behavior planning.
Key Responsibilities
? Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
? Provide targeted instruction tailored to student goals
? Collaborate with general education teachers, Paras, and therapy staff
? Support and implement behavior plans
? Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
? Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
? Participate in IEP meetings and evaluations
Minimum Requirements
? Special Education teaching experience
? Valid Wisconsin DPI license or license in progress
? Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
? Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
? Minimum of 1 year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
? Certification Types (preferred):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
? Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
? Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
? Current CPR certification (if applicable)
? TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
? Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)
? Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
? Must be at least 18 years of age
