Job Description
he Senior Manager Project Management role will act as strategic partner to functional teams and as conduit into finance and technology organization. This role will focus on executing the short-term and longer-term strategy of the EPMO and deliver projects consisting of cross-functional teams including contract resources. These projects will focus on enhancing financial and operational capabilities to meet portfolio, program and project needs across the organization.
The position applies traditional, “Lean”, and design-based project management principles and practices, and uses a design-based, human-centered approach to create processes and resources that appropriately fit the range of project complexity, size and environment at CFA Institute. It coordinates with appropriate change management, design thinking, and process improvement practices as well. The ePMO Senior Manager builds effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, involves them in design of processes and selection of resources and project plans, and assures their satisfaction with the support provided.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As the Senior Manager Project Management, you will have the opportunity to:
- Responsible and accountable for ePMO projects, subprojects, processes to enhance financial management, project portfolio processes, tools and enabling technologies.
- Engage business groups to capture portfolio and program level requirements and use cases; review market intelligence/benchmarking to recommend process enhancements and enabling tools and technologies to manage the project portfolio
- Develop framework and design proof of concepts to assess project and financial management functionality within existing application landscape (e.g., Workday, Netsuite, JIRA).
- Engage senior leaders across finance, technology, and business areas to define the project goals and operating models, and releases
- Understand, implement and optimize the use of tools and techniques to manage key performance indicators (KPI) and support efficient decision-making, including dashboarding and data reporting.
- Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring compliance with ePMO processes, controls and documentation standards for business cases, project scheduling and reporting; liaise with finance for funding and authorization and requisite financial analysis (e.g., analyzing project checkbooks including forecasts, actual costs, and budgets)
- Develop and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and involve them in the design of processes and resources initially and through subsequent ongoing testing and improvement.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects relevant to project controls: focused area assessments (FASAs), strategic initiatives, process and procedure revisions or new process and procedure creation, and training sessions.
- Respond in a timely manner to all ad hoc questions and requests for information. Become a one stop, widely recognized source for management.
- Demonstrate & educate: prove the importance of EPMO tools and processes to executive management and other important internal stakeholders.
- Ensures a good working relationship between the project team, internal resources, vendors, and interfacing organizations.
- Coaches and leads team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks.

Skills and Requirements
• 7-10 years of experience in a PMO (likes financial services or educational/publishing background - Pearson, McGraw Hill, Cambridge, Blackboard, Scholastic)

Experience world cross-functionally for a global organization managing multiple stakeholders · PMP, PMI- ACP, or PRINCE 2
