Job Description

This position plays a crucial role in the allocation and scheduling of transmission events. This position collaborates closely with a Senior Project Manager to lead meetings and discussions on scheduling and resource allocation for fast-paced projects. Key responsibilities include scheduling design engineering and construction activities, resolving conflicts, updating schedule progress, identifying potential scheduling risks, and developing contingency plans. The role also involves coordinating cross-functional team efforts to align with project goals and conducting regular reviews to ensure milestones are met. Additionally, the Master Scheduler will generate detailed reports for key stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires a proactive individual who can interact effectively with customers and ensure the successful execution of complex, fast-paced projects through meticulous scheduling and resource management. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong business execution, communication, relationship-building, and innovation skills, while supporting and promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

o Support the Sr. Project Managers in managing fast-paced projects by providing expert scheduling and resource allocation guidance

o Coordinate and oversee transmission capital project activities, including Engineering, Procurement, Environmental, System Outages, and Construction, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines

o Assist the Template Committee to ensure consistency in templates, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to enhance standardization and efficiency

o Mentor and develop less experienced Customer/Specialty schedule analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

o Continuously update project progress and facilitate the resolution of conflicts, resource issues, or schedule exceptions that may impact project completion dates, ensuring timely and effective mitigation strategies

o Prepare comprehensive project status reports for key stakeholders, customers, and strategic partners, providing clear insights and actionable information

o Collaborate with the Customer's Choice and Regulatory scheduling team, and other contract resources to ensure that GPC schedules accurately represent every aspect of a project

o Analyze project cost exceptions and assist with variance explanations, contributing to accurate financial tracking and accountability with respect to the schedule

o Ensure adherence to the gated process and contribute to the development and refinement of customer choice and exception gated processes, enhancing project timelines and overall delivery

o Utilize strong business execution skills to ensure projects meet business objectives and deliver value

o Leverage excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences

o Assist with training and onboarding new schedule analyst

o Build and maintain strong relationships and networks within and outside the organization to support project success

o Promote and foster innovation by exploring new and improved methods to achieve project objectives.

Skills and Requirements

o Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, or Construction Management)

o Preferred experience in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction

o Power Delivery experience preferred

o At least 3 years of P6 scheduling experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

o Proficient in project management processes

o Required experience with scheduling and project management tools, particularly Primavera/P6

o Knowledge of critical path scheduling is a plus

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); database management is a plus

o Experience facilitating customer meetings and interacting with customers

o Experience with large project teams in implementing project controls programs is preferred

o Proven organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)

o Knowledge of the gated process and ability to assist in creating customer choice gated processes to enhance project timelines
