Job Description

Day to Day:

- Insight Global is looking for an Infrastructure/Platform Engineer to join the team of its largest OEM customer based in Dearborn, MI. This person will be mostly responsible for hosting IBM DataStage on various platforms - Kubernetes, GKE, OpenShift, and will be working with a small team of 3. This position requires an on-site presence in Dearborn 4 days a week.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage and support IBM DataStage environments across all stages.

• Design and optimize deployments for enterprise platforms on Kubernetes (GKE, OpenShift).

• Maintain OpenShift clusters and deploy scalable data services.

• Operate and troubleshoot Apache NiFi flows and clusters.

• Automate deployments, backups, and maintenance using scripting (Bash, Python).

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for DataStage, NiFi, and containers.

• Monitor system health, tune performance, and set up alerts.

• Execute backups and disaster recovery for DataStage and NiFi.

• Enforce security practices including access control and patching.

• Resolve integration issues and document incident reports

• Maintain operational documentation and perform system housekeeping.

Mentor junior staff and collaborate across teams on integration solutions.

Compensation: $65/hr to $73/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

- Experience: 5+ years in systems administration and platform support

• 3+ years hosting IBM InfoSphere DataStage on various platforms

• Platform Expertise: Skilled in Red Hat OpenShift, GKE, or Kubernetes

- Technical Skills: Strong in Linux shell scripting (Bash, Python),

- Security Knowledge: Familiar with RBAC, secrets management, TLS, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities. Preferred:

- DevOps Tools: Proficient with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD.

• Container tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Certifications:

• Red Hat OpenShift Admin Specialist
