    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking to hire a Software Design Engineer to support a defense contract in Maryland. This work primarily operates remote and requires occasional travel to customer sites in College Park, MD and Dahlgren, VA. This individual will be helping to lead a team responsible for designing computer systems operating on military ships. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     

    Coordinating with government customers and stakeholders to understand the requirements needed in software systems.

     

    Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery and compliance with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes.

     

    Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges, integrating cybersecurity, anti-tamper measures, and secure coding practices into system architectures.

     

    Ensure system security and operational effectiveness by applying releasability requirements and technical strategies for exportable software systems.

     

    Utilize Agile methodologies and DevSecOps tools (Atlassian suite, Jenkins) to manage development cycles and maintain compliance with export control regulations.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Active Secret clearance

     

    Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 12 years of experience (OR Master’s Degree + 10 years of experience OR PhD with 8 years of experience)

     

    Expertise in designing C/C++ and Java software solutions and roadmaps

     

    Knowledge in foreign military sales (FMS) and security policies and technical strategies
