BAE Systems is hiring for a Quality Program Manager to support from a base of either York, Pennsylvania or Anniston, Alabama. This is a hybrid-friendly position. In this role as a Quality Program Manager, you will use your management and coordination skills to work within a matrixed organization, providing leadership and support across multiple functional teams. Included duties:
+ Manage Quality Assurance activities for engineering projects of small to moderate size and complexity;
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for customer, Program Management Office, and functional staff;
+ Determine and communicate project objectives and strategies for their accomplishment;
+ Ensure technical test, performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements are met and that outcomes are consistent with established engineering and management principles and practice;
+ Review contracts to determine contract deliverable requirements (CDRL's) and ensures compliance;
+ Analyze needs and acquire Quality Assurance resources for assigned programs, prepares Basis of Estimate (BOE), and Work Authorization Memos (WAMs);
+ Develop, implement, and manage project plans to include detailed task definition resource requirements, schedule, quality, and cost parameters;
+ Assess project risk areas and develop risk mitigation plans;
+ Address the various needs, concerns, and expectations of the stakeholders as the project is planned and carried out;
+ Prepare, monitor, and control budget and schedules, reporting on technical cost and schedule status;
+ Prepare, present, and defend project technical results and recommendations to internal management and external customers;
+ Participate in formal technical reviews with customers and internal technical reviews with peers and subordinates;
+ Prepare and present technical portion of assigned proposals including concept definition, technical specifications, definitions, and associated costs;
+ Advise management on new developments and evolving organizational needs and required technical competencies.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Typically requires a bachelors degree and six years of related experience, or the overall equivalent;
+ Must have an understanding of Quality Systems (e.g. ISO-9000) requirements;
+ Knowledge of the Seven Basic Tools of Quality (fishbone diagrams, check sheets, control charts, histograms, pareto charts, scatter diagrams, and flow/run charts) and a background in creating and using them in the past as a part of their quality experience;
+ Practical working knowledge of Project Management (PM), Integrated Product Development, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, Transition to Production, Logistics, Process Improvement methodologies (e.g. BPR, Green/Black Belt), and BAE Systems' Life Cycle Management (LCM) processes;
+ Familiar with product test requirements and the execution of contractor and Government production and test programs;
+ Ability to develop and manage budgets and schedules;
+ Excellent interpersonal skills to operate effectively within a matrixed organization;
+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and provide strategic support;
+ Able to coordinate or lead personnel considered as indirect reports in accomplishing work activities;
+ Computer proficiency in MS Suite including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database applications;
+ Ability to create presentations for internal and external customers on quality issues, metrics, etc. in order to effectively deliver the relevant information and concepts to personnel unacquainted with quality processes and requirements;
+ High level of comfort with presentations to large and small groups;
+ Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance to either York, PA or Anniston, AL to support the standardized hybrid schedule. Hybrid employees work from their assigned site 3 days a week, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays being uniform office days, and the third day being a flex day subject to manager approval.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ CQM/OE, CQE or CQA accreditation (ASQ)
+ PMP
+ Black-belt or Green-belt certification (from accepted accreditation body)
+ Demonstratable knowledge of ISO 9001, TS-16949 or AS 9100
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
