BetterNight is a professional medical service and supply company, focused on sleep & sleep therapy. Our focus is on diagnosis on sleep apnea through home sleep study and treatment through the use of CPAP therapy or oral appliance therapy.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in California, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Virginia, and Mississippi.
The Practice Services Representative is responsible for collecting patient information and initiating the patient life cycle, including scheduling patients for diagnostics sleep studies, CPAP set-ups, telehealth visits, follow-up appointments, home visits, and other procedures as necessary for their assigned practice/physician group. The expectation of this position is to provide a first-class service experience, with every patient and/or physician interaction.

+ Acts as a point of contact for the Primary Care Physician’s office
+ Initiates contact to physician offices for Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN), referrals and qualifiers for sleep studies, and for orders, complications and recommendations as necessary
+ Explains patient diagnoses and provides general education and information on BetterNight services and products
+ Initiates calls to patients and schedules routine appointments for equipment set ups, home visits, follow up appointments and other procedures as needed.
+ Enters all appointments into the electronic scheduling system
+ Informs patients on what to expect during their appointments and provides basic education on company services
+ Receives and responds to consumer calls or chats guiding the consumer through web-based software to therapeutic outcomes
+ Schedules physician consults and follows up on any orders the physician prescribes
+ Identifies patient urgency and routes patient requests to appropriate staff
+ Explains copays and insurance coverage to patients as necessary
+ Checks benefits for patients and explains financial information as necessary
+ Processes patient payments and copays as necessary
+ Scans and downloads patient information into Brightree computer system
+ Faxes benefit and patient information to appropriate doctor’s offices
+ Serves as a liaison between patient and other members of the healthcare team, as required
+ Assists in coordinating RTs, Sleep Care Specialists, and other clinician schedules on a daily basis
+ Assists in facilitating walk-ins and/or patient overflow appointments to maximize RT appointments and minimizes wait times as necessary
+ Works with the Insurance & Benefits team to ensure same day patient authorizations are completed
+ Assists in facilitating non-contracted Patient return of devices i.e. contacting patient and scheduling
+ Creates sales orders as necessary
+ Ensures all area related price quotes given to customers/patients are appropriate and meet current company pricing policy
+ Must be knowledgeable in Patient Rights and Responsibilities
+ Reviews patient files, both electronic and hard copy, for accuracy and for compliance with BetterNight’s policy and procedures
+ Responsible for keeping all patient charts and information orderly, confidential, current and HIPAA compliant at all times
+ Works cohesively and efficiently with coworkers throughout BetterNight to ensure a first-class patient experience
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
+ Strong oral and written communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong commitment to patient care, customer service, friendly, helpful and caring nature is required
+ HS diploma or equivalent required
+ 6 months to 2 years’ experience in customer service, administration or reception required
+ Experience in Healthcare industry preferred
+ Must be able to work standard business hours in Pacific Standard Time Zone (California time). Shifts will be assigned in Pacific Standard Time Zone.

$18.00 - $20.00 / hour DOE

Salary Description
$18.00 - $20.00 /hour
