    The primary duties of University of Washington Athletic Department coaches are to teach, instruct, educate and impart knowledge to student-athletes regarding the rules and fundamentals of their respective sport with the goal to continuously improve and achieve athletic excellence.

     

    This position reports to the Head Men’s Baseball Coach.

     

    • Assist in the successful operation of the University of Washington Baseball program. Participate in the organization, development and implementation of a championship Division 1 baseball program. Build and maintain positive working relationships with coaches, staff, and athletes. Work towards goals of excellence in all aspects of the program, representing the University of Washington, Athletics Department, and program with the highest professional and ethical behavior.

    • Coach athletes, including the mechanics of assigned specialty areas, and development of highly completive skills. Participate in the administration and planning of practices and strength and conditioning programs. Provide a blueprint for a successful approach to the mental aspect of the game.

    • Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes. Assist with administrative duties and public relations, participate in Husky Baseball clinics, fundraising activities, and the ongoing support and development of student-athlete academic success.

     

    Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of successful playing or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level. Successful playing or coaching experience may substitute for educational requirements.

     

    Proven ability to relate to student-athletes. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

     

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $144,000.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $150,000.00 annual

    Other Compensation:

    o Taxable benefits include participation in the ICA Courtesy Car Program, athletic equipment/apparel allowance, and tickets to the UW intercollegiate home competitions. Non-local candidates may be eligible for a moving allowance.
