    The School of Public Health** **has an** **exciting** **opening** **for** **a** **n Assistant Director** **for** **Philanthropy** **.** **This is a full-time** **,** **permanent position.

     

    The Assistant Director for Philanthropy (ADOP) is responsible for increasing private support for the SPH through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective donors. In addition to increasing philanthropic support to the school, the ADOP will deepen donor and constituent relationships with the SPH through strategic events, broad-based relationship-building efforts and development-related communications. These activities are in direct service of enhancing the enhancing the student experience; driving faculty recruitment and retention; empowering cutting-edge research; and supporting general operations across the SPH.

    What You Will Do** **:

    _Frontline Fundraising_

    + Identify, qualify, cultivate and steward prospective and existing donors, with a focus on individuals capable of leadership annual and major gifts, in alignment with established performance metrics.

    + Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation prospects, developing and executing tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies. Seek input from the Director for Philanthropy and Chief Advancement Officer, as needed.

    + Coordinate with Advancement teams on an outreach plan that ensures a seamless donor experience across every touchpoint at the UW.

    + Lead the planning and execution of strategic programs and events that support donor discovery, cultivation and stewardship. Serve as the primary event lead when assigned.

    + Drive fundraising initiatives for assigned departments, centers or programs, working directly with faculty leadership to design and implement strategies that advance funding priorities.

    _Broad-Based Constituent Relations_

    + Support schoolwide participation in University-wide giving and engagement opportunities, such as Husky Giving Day and other institutional campaigns and initiatives.

    + Develop and implement strategies, alongside Marketing and Communications colleagues, to strengthen relationships with alumni and other SPH constituents.

    + Coordinate alumni engagement activities across departments and programs, ensuring alignment between SPH and central UW Advancement efforts.

    + Serve as the school’s liaison for alumni programs and events led by the University of Washington Alumni Association, helping to expand SPH’s visibility and reach.

     

    _Other duties as assigned _

    Minimum** **Requirement** **s** **:

    Bachelor's degree AND three years of experience in fundraising, events management, communications or related field.

     

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    What You Bring** **:

    + Proven orientation toward action and results, with the ability to take initiative and move work forward in dynamic or ambiguous situations.

    + Prior experience in or high potential to learn donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, including identifying, qualifying and managing a portfolio of prospects.

    + Ability to work collegially and effectively with internal and external partners and constituents.

    + Proficiency with technology and data tools, including relational databases and the Microsoft Office suiteto produce reports, presentations and other materials.

    + Authentic commitment to advancing the mission and values of public health.

    What You Can Expect** **:

    + Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days in office.

    + Cubicle/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.

    + Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.

    + Frequent local travel.

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $77,496.00 annual

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $88,500.00 annual
