    Job Description

    As a Hypersonic Engine Integrated Propulsion Team Lead, you will lead the development of advanced hypersonic propulsion systems, overseeing both technical and project objectives to ensure successful delivery of all program requirements. Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of technical maturation through engine testing, including subsystem, ground, and flight testing. You will apply standard practices and processes to execute the project effectively, ensuring alignment with cost and schedule baselines. You will collaborate closely with Program Leadership to maintain alignment and drive project success.

    In this role you will:

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Be responsible for the successful execution of the engine IPT by leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, analyze, build and test a hypersonic Dual Mode Ramjet engine

    + Apply knowledge of high-speed propulsion and operability principles, fluid dynamics and aero-thermal mechanical systems to make informed decisions leading to rapid development of prototype system

    + Manage the technical milestones of the project to meet program schedule and deliver flight engines on time.

    + Ensure that assigned IPT team members have the technical and programmatic information and data to efficiently complete project tasks, and confirm compliance with standard work processes and our Quality Management System

    + Identify critical path activities and rapidly and decisively assign resources for completion.

    + Identify, assess, communicate and mitigate potential risks to project.

    + Develop a positive and collaborative communication and working relationship with the customer.

    Required Qualifications

    + This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.

    + Master's in Mechanical/Propulsion/Aerospace Engineering

    + 3+ years in High-Speed Propulsion (Ramjet/Scramjet)/Missile/Prototype Development and flight test articles, demonstrated experience in development of hardware through rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing methods.

    + Strong understanding of engineering principles and applying them to technical tasks

    + Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena.

    + Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Skilled in CFD, preferably using Pointwise, iCFD++ and Tecplot

    + Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

    + Be willing to work out of an office located in Bohemia, NY

    Desired Characteristics

    + You will have spent the bulk of your career in and around high technology development ideally touching the aerospace and defense sector.

    + You will have demonstrated an ability to work as part of a team with direct responsibility for managing small engineering teams.

    + You will have demonstrated a sound experience level in R&D Propulsion / Missile development.

    + You are a hands-on person who has a blend of tactical, strategic and excellent people skills. You must be comfortable in leading a program and ensuring staff performance.     + You should have a personality that can be described as fostering excellent communication and adopt a hands-on style with the Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Test. You should be available and encourage excellence and growth through communication, feedback and support. The Engine IPT Lead will understand the challenges of a DOD R&D business, possess the grit and determination of an accountable leader and have demonstrated the ability to persevere in complex situations.

     

    The base pay range for this position is $109,000 - $145,300. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
