    Roles and Responsibilities:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Maintain, install construct, diagnose and repair a variety of machine tools and equipment including complicated electronic/electrical systems and data handling equipment.

    + Tear down and reassemble damaged or defective units.

    + May repair worn or damaged parts and reassemble, and perform some machining on replacement parts.

    + Plans and layout work as necessary.

    + Working with a minimum of supervision, is able to perform difficult work in maintaining plant properties such as buildings, machinery and equipment, etc. where moderate skill in more than one trade is required.

    + Work with contractors in the planning and installation of new wiring, the installation and/or rearrangement of machinery or equipment.

    + Work with contractors, vendors, landlord and machine tool builders for repair/maintenance work on machines, facility equipment and physical plant.

    + Perform purchasing with procurement card and justify monthly statement.

    + May supervise and/or train one or more subordinates.

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

    + Machining experience

    + Ability to work with minimal supervision

    + Background in electrical repair

    + Must have acquired sufficient training and experience in one or more of the maintenance trades to perform the class of work ordinarily required of a journeyman in these trades

    + Must be able to operate (safely) basic machine tools; i.e., drill press, mill, surface grinder
