Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ Responsibilities: GENERAL PURPOSE Acts as a team lead for other Talent Recruitment Specialists initiating the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of recruitment strategies and activities to support the recruitment needs of divisions across the University. Advises departments and colleagues on HR policies, procedures as well as state and federal regulations related to recruitment and hiring. Creates and analyzes relevant data with regards to recruitment methods. Uses data to make and implement recommendations to optimize recruitment methods. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Recruits, screens and performs reference checks and background checks on qualified candidates in preparation for referral to hiring managers. + Determines eligibility for hire and rehire prior to referral to department manager. + Reviews personnel files and system records for prior employees to determine suitability for rehire. + Keeps all parties (department, applicant recruiting sources, etc.) informed as to progress of recruitment and placement efforts. + Makes official offers of appointment, including starting salary within established compensation plans. + Develops and executes recruitment strategies in collaboration with business units and HR Business Partners, including developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate recruitment sources for qualified and diverse candidates, utilization of a variety of effective advertising and social media, and developing relationships with schools and programs that graduate qualified candidates. + Conducts interviews for qualified applicants in concert with requesting departments, exchanging interview summary notes related to qualifications before and after each interview. + Supports departments with interviews where needed, including assisting with the development of interview questions and templates. + Provides coaching to lower-level Talent Acquisition Specialists, providing support for inquiries and partners to troubleshoot complex recruitment issues. + Acts as a subject matter expert and mentors the talent acquisition team. + Trains new team members on organizational/department specific policy and procedures and state and federal regulations. + Collaborates with leadership to create and analyze relevant data with regards to recruitment methods. + Uses data to make and implement recommendations to optimize recruitment methods. + Recommends changes in departmental policies, practices and procedures. + Acts as point of contact for recruitment-based systems, stays abreast of changes in recruitment technology and makes recommendation to leadership on strategies to best leverage resources. + Provides leadership on special projects as assigned.
