    Job Summary

    **The Center for Campus Wellness ( CCW )** is a confidential and comprehensive wellness office that provides wellness education, trainings and workshops (focus areas include basic needs, mental health, sexual health, violence prevention, and substance use); victim-survivor advocacy services and support; safer sex services for students; collegiate recovery program, wellness coaching, and peer mentorship.

    Our mission is to support student well-being and success through holistic and comprehensive programs that center wellness, safety, and healing. We provide several resources, services, and programs for the campus, and while we primarily support students, we also offer select services for faculty and staff.

     

    _About Student Affairs_

     

    The Center for Campus Wellness is part of Student Affairs. Student Affairs is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the ultimate goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. Student Affairs encourages U of U students to participate in the creation of their own campus culture, collaboratively working alongside professional staff, student leaders, and academic partners to ensure all members of our community not only feel welcomed but are fully incorporated into university life.

     

    **The Basic Needs Collective ( BNC )** is managed by the Center for Campus Wellness and is a part of the Student Affairs division. We support student well-being and success. As a coordinated resource referral hub, we educate and connect students to campus and community resources to help them meet their basic needs.

     

    CCW - Seeks a Coordinator for the Basic Needs Collective who will have primary responsibility for

     

    o 35% Student Support & Case Management

    o 25% Outreach & Education coordination and facilitation

    o 25% Program/Resource Implementation & Operations

    o 15% Participation in CCW Campaigns, programming and initiatives

    JOB SUMMARY :

    Under the supervision of the Basic Needs Collective Program Manager, the **Basic Needs Case Coordinator** performs a wide range of administrative, programmatic, and technical duties that support the basic needs service area. Examples include coordinating basic needs services and providing student resources through intake, assessment, and referral assistance. The Basic Needs Collective Case Coordinator performs a full range of program and clerical assistance to support the basic needs service area. This includes building sustainable relationships with campus and community partners to obtain resources for students and promoting student success, retention, and degree completion by helping to remove barriers to their education. The duties listed below are intended as examples of the various types of work that may be performed.     Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

    Case Management

     

    1. Serve as a _point of first contact_ for students facing food insecurity, housing instability, financial emergencies, and other essential needs.

    2. Provide non-clinical case management support by identifying barriers and connecting students to appropriate resources.

    3. Assist students with navigating health insurance options, including Medicaid and marketplace plans. Support students in housing searches and connect them with financial assistance programs and other resources as needed.

    4. Maintain case notes using a secure EHR platform (Medicat) and all other documentation systems in compliance with FERPA and university policies.

    5. Serve as a liaison for emergency housing needs, helping to maintain and expand emergency housing resources.

    6. Make referrals to the appropriate campus partners to provide comprehensive care and support and in compliance with university policy.

    7. Serve as a liaison for outreach and education inquiries including planning and facilitating engaging activities to increase the visibility and reach of the Basic Needs Collective.

    8. Support campus-wide Center for Campus Wellness and Basic Needs Collective efforts by planning and facilitating workshops, awareness campaigns, and other programming activities.

    9. Serve as a liaison for the Thrift Shop, focusing on growth to increase material resources access for the campus community.

    10. Participate in training new staff, student workers, interns, and volunteers. Supervise assigned student staff. Collaborate with student interns to plan, organize, and schedule signature programs.

    11. Prepare special and periodic reports, including fiscal reports, program plans, progress reports, and other narrative and statistical reports based on utilization of BNC services and offerings.

    12. Greet visitors and communicate with students, faculty, staff, and other individuals to answer questions and disseminate or explain information related to resource access and the Basic Needs Collective.

    13. Help maintain and grow the campus and community resources database.

    14. Attend professional group meetings and workshops to stay up to date on new trends and maintain a working knowledge of information related to the service area.

    15. Proactively support daily office operations and perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus one year of directly related experience.

     

    Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze, and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills are required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

     

    Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

     

    Ability to work independently; demonstrate strong communication (both verbal and written) skills; demonstrate evidence-based and innovative program development, coordination, facilitation, and assessment skills.

     

    Preferences

     

    A bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology, or another related field.
