    Job Summary

    Provides complex administrative support for a professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the David Eccles School of Business.

    Responsibilities

    + Submit letters of recommendation on behalf of professor

    + Update professor’s CV

    + Update professor’s personal website

    + Promote academic articles on social media (LinkedIn and Twitter)

    + Schedule all meetings (digital and in-person)

    + Utilize a budget to track the balance of a research account; reconcile this with university records

    + Use ePR (electronic payment request) to submit reimbursement requests

    + Book travel / submit expense reports

    + Possibly lead academic conference planning and execution

    + Edit and proofread business strategy manuscripts for top tier strategy journals such as Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, Strategic Management Journal, and others

    + Navigate Manuscript Central and submit decisions on journals for SMS (Strategic Management Society), SMJ (Strategic Management Journal), and BAS (Business and Strategy), and others, including requesting new reviewers

    + Use varied software such as Word, Excel, Outlook and others with expertise

    + Manage your own email account as well as that of professor

    + Update the new Elements system with info from professor’s curriculum vitae

    + Make purchasing card purchases and perform their related reallocations

    + Do mail merge for messages to a large group

    + Spearhead any parties hosted by professor

    + Prepare and track cash and check deposits

    Minimum Qualifications

    Associate degree in business or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.
