Job Summary
The Prevention Research Collaborative (PRC) at the University of Michigan School of Public Health seeks a highly skilled evaluation specialist to provide evaluation support and expertise for school and community violence prevention training, technical assistance and research. Under the direction of PRC leadership, this position will implement program evaluation and quality improvement for PRC and partner projects. The ideal candidate is a flexible and creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a multi-disciplinary approach.

Responsibilities*
+ Work with the PRC data team and National Center of School Safety (NCSS) evaluation team to design, develop and implement needs assessment, focus groups, training and technical assistance (TTA) evaluations, and other program evaluation tools
+ Conduct advanced quantitative analysis, interpret and synthesize results, and prepare data visualization reports for multiple audiences
+ Conduct rapid quality improvement evaluation to translate needs assessment and training and TA evaluation into action for our TTA team
+ Work with school safety and public health technical assistance specialists to develop tools and resources for schools and school districts to evaluate their school safety work; provide direct assistance to school practitioners in program evaluation
+ Track, maintain, and document program activities
+ Collaborate with the PRC and NCSS communications team to prepare high-quality, tailored evaluation reports and materials for a range of internal and external audiences (e.g. funders, leadership, community members)
+ Present evaluation findings to leadership, advisory boards, and other internal and external collaborators
+ Prepare evaluation results and other data for manuscript publication and contribute to manuscript writing.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
This position may be filled at the Research Area Specialist Intermediate or Research Area Specialist Associate level.
Requirements for Research Area Specialist Intermediate level: Master's degree and 4 to 5 years related experience.
Requirements for Research Area Specialist Associate level: Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's preferred. 1-3 years-related experience in program planning and evaluation
+ Experience with a range of social science program evaluation methods including needs assessments and survey design
+ 1-2 years of experience in evaluation methods for school safety, positive youth development, violence prevention, health equity, or related fields
+ Demonstrated quantitative data analysis skills; Experience using R, SPSS, Stata, SAS, or Python to manage and analyze large data sets
+ Understanding of and training in using data visualization to present information to varied audiences (e.g., data dashboards, and other visualization methods)
+ Demonstrated experience with **problem-solving** issues with evaluation processes and data, as part of a team and independently
+ Strong ability to **prioritize tasks and manage time** independently to meet deadlines
+ Excellent **collaboration and interpersonal skills** with the ability to work with internal team members and external partners
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Mobile / Remote:
The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis.
Underfill Statement
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The salary offered will be commensurate with the level of the position. There are two levels possible:
**Research Area Specialist Intermediate:** $56,380 - $65,000
**Associate Area Specialist Associate:** $46,211 -$57,084
Additional Information
This is a 1-year term-limited position.
