    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    The Senior SEO Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the organic growth strategy across CNBC, MSNBC, and E! News digital platforms. This role combines analytical expertise with editorial collaboration to drive visibility, engagement, and audience loyalty through search optimization. The Senior SEO Analyst will partner closely with content, product, and engineering teams to ensure stories, videos, and streaming experiences are discoverable, performant, and aligned with evolving search trends and platform algorithms.

     

    This individual will leverage data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize editorial workflows, and guide long-term SEO strategies that strengthen the digital footprint of each brand. They will serve as the bridge between editorial creativity and technical performance—using advanced analytics, structured data, and AI-driven insights

     

    to enhance the discoverability of premium journalism and entertainment content while maintaining brand integrity and editorial excellence. This person must have a passion for digital or journalistic content and be a huge consumer of news and media. To succeed, this person will need to be equally fluent in the editorial, technical, and commercial worlds.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies for CNBC, MSNBC, and E! News digital properties.

    • Analyze organic traffic trends and performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth and content optimization.

    • Collaborate with editors and producers to guide SEO best practices for breaking news, features, and evergreen content.

    • Optimize metadata, headlines, schema, and internal linking structures to improve content visibility across search and discovery platforms.

    • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure site architecture, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO align with Google standards.

    • Provide keyword research, search intent analysis, and audience insights to inform editorial planning and coverage priorities.

    • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to measure SEO performance across multiple brands and platforms.

    • Collaborate with Design and UX teams to enhance discoverability within on-site navigation and streaming interfaces.

    • Lead competitive analysis to benchmark performance against top digital news and entertainment brands.

    • Partner with the Data & Insights team to identify AI and automation opportunities for content tagging and optimization.

    • Educate cross-functional teams on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and search engine behavior.

    • Support experimentation and A/B testing for headlines, content modules, and landing pages to maximize organic reach.

    • Minimum of 4 years of SEO experience, preferably within digital media, news, or streaming industries.

    • Deep understanding of technical, on-page, and off-page SEO principles.

    • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and/or Looker Studio.

    • Strong data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable strategies.

    • Excellent communication skills with experience partnering across editorial, product, and engineering teams.

    • Proven track record of delivering measurable organic traffic growth in large, content-driven environments.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with enterprise CMS platforms

    • Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and rich results optimization.

    • Understanding of video and streaming SEO across YouTube, OTT, and connected TV ecosystems.

    • Experience leveraging AI tools for keyword clustering, content optimization, or audience segmentation.

    • Passion for journalism, media innovation, and emerging trends in audience discovery.

     

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000
