    The position will provide strategic management, oversight and promotion of the Minnesota Film Production Tax Credit Program, administered by Explore Minnesota Film. This position is responsible for the communication and ongoing organizational development of the Minnesota Film Production Tax Credit Program. Providing strategic insight into regional and national film incentive trends and the evolving entertainment business, this position will be responsible for aligning the state’s film offerings to best attract, retain, and grow production-related jobs and the many ancillary businesses that benefit from increased production activity in Minnesota. The position will ensure smooth processing at each stage, from initial application to allocation letter and final credit approval. This position will be responsible for assessing applicant eligibility and conducting a detailed review of the production schedule and expenses, all based on established rules and procedures. Continually seeking improvement and feedback from industry stakeholders, this position will develop updates the Minnesota Film Production Tax Credit Program Guidelines, statutes, and proposals.

     

    This position will provide customer service to engage with individuals, proposing structures to support nuanced creative processes, and sharing what makes Minnesota the best place to live, work, and make films and long-term projects, navigating complex processes to find successful outcomes, and be an enterprising manager and ambassador with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple projects effectively. The position requires a strong balance of accounting, communication, and organizational skills to successfully oversee the Minnesota Film Production Tax Credit Program.

    + Oversee and maintain the MN Film Production Tax Credit Program.

    + Develop strategy, innovation, and leadership for the MN Film Production Tax Credit program.

    + External promotion of Film Production Tax Credit Program.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two (2) years’ experience working in a project management role within the film, television, or commercial industry.

     

    + **Experience with** film and television production processes from development to distribution, in both indie and studio settings.

    + Thorough knowledge of film production, fundraising and financing terms.

    + Research skills in areas of state government legislation, economic impact, film industry production pipeline.

    + Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers, and written correspondence and effectively communicate and elicit information with tack and diplomacy.

    + Experience with budget management and the management of contracts

    + Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) at an intermediate level.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project and in a team environment.

     

    Bachelor’s degree in film production, media, project management in the film, or a closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute one year of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.

    + Ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks ranging from marketing to communications, stakeholder engagement, vendor contracts and legislative relations.
