Tire Technician
Transdev in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a Tire Technician. Tire Technicians are responsible for managing and maintaining heavy-duty tires, utilizing tire machines, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in tire handling and repair, along with the ability to work independently in a variety of outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Inspects tires on transit vehicles and repairs as needed.
+ Inspect transit bus tires for wear, damage, tread depth, and proper inflation.
+ Remove and install tires on buses using manual and powered tire equipment.
+ Balance and rotate tires to maintain even wear and vehicle stability.
+ Repair punctures, cuts, or valve leaks using approved repair methods.
+ Maintain tire inventory, including tracking serial numbers and tread life data.
+ Mount and dismount tires on rims using hydraulic or pneumatic tools.
+ Conduct wheel alignments or assist mechanics as required.
+ Maintain accurate service records in fleet maintenance systems.
+ Adhere to safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and PPE use.
+ Dispose of worn or damaged tires in compliance with environmental regulations.
+ Assist in road calls and emergency tire replacements when required.
+ Proper use of equipment to remove, replace, balance, re-groove and repair them in a safe, effective manner.
+ Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 1-3 years of heavy-duty tire repair experience
+ Certification in tire service (e.g., TIA Commercial Tire Service) preferred.
+ Through knowledge of tire maintenance and repairs required
+ Experience in the use of tire machines regroove, balance, and all related tire equipment
+ Must maintain and have a current DOT certification
+ Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervisor required.
Physical Requirements:
+ Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 100 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
+ This position requires frequent standing, bending, and kneeling. Candidates must have the physical ability and tolerance to perform these activities for extended periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions, which can be extremely hot in the summer months and cold during the winter months. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. Vibrations and fumes or airborne particles may also be present.
+ This position is primarily based in a maintenance shop environment. The employee must be able to work in high-traffic areas and tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and elevated noise levels while performing assigned duties.
