The Opportunity:
The Opportunity: The Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps program is seeking a Gen AI Engineer to be part of a team that improves Marine Corps combat effectiveness by continuing to provide cutting-edge business information. GCSS-MC utilizes Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Oracle Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications to provide functions that include asset visibility, supply, maintenance, readiness, task organization, repairs, request tracking, and financial information.
Responsibilities:
• Build and implement agentic AI workflows using frameworks like LangGraph to automate business processes
• Develop production RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems for intelligent information retrieval
• Create AI-powered tools and APIs that integrate with existing enterprise systems
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable AI solutions
• Contribute to data pipeline development and API deployment
Qualifications:
_Required:_
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of software development experience with at least 1-2 years working with LLMs or Gen AI applications
• Strong proficiency in Python for building production applications
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agentic AI frameworks
• Experience building or contributing to RAG systems
• Working knowledge of embeddings and vector databases (Pinecot, Weaviate, ChromaDB, FAISS, or similar)
• SQL proficiency and understanding of relational database concepts
• Experience developing REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
• Basic Linux/Unix command-line skills
• AWS experience (familiarity with S3, EC2, Lambda, or similar services)
• Strong English communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
_Desired:_
• Prompt engineering experience and ability to optimize LLM responses
• Understanding of LLM inference serving and resource consumption (memory, latency, throughput)
• Experience with multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, open-source models)
• Familiarity with LLM observability tools (LangSmith, Weights & Biases, or similar)
• Knowledge of data modeling and complex SQL queries
• Experience with Docker and containerization
• Understanding of cost optimization strategies for LLM applications
• Experience with streaming responses and real-time AI applications
• Familiarity with model evaluation, output validation, and handling hallucinations
• Understanding of ethical AI principles and bias mitigation

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
