Lockheed Martin, Missiles Fire and Control is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern with focus on AI/ML implementation in Ocala, Florida\.
The Ocala Operations is a multi\-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro\-mechanical assemblies\. The facility currently has over 1400 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites\. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing\. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team\.
Candidate must be pursuing a 4 year engineering degree from an accredited college or university\.
As a primary work scope, candidate must be able to work with various teams and functions to obtain access to production\-related data, analyze/interpret/transform data for AI/ML manufacturing use\-cases, and communicate to consumers of the AI/ML output how it may be used to augment manufacturing processes\.
Candidate must be able to develop and implement Manufacturing Process Plans \(MPP's\) for a variety of electronic and electro\-mechanical assemblies\. Utilize basic drafting and software programs to develop MPP's, design tooling, support equipment, process flows\.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields\. Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment\. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement\.
This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen\.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering degree program or related STEM discipline\.
• The candidate must be a US citizen\.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of electro\-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming\. Strong written & verbal communication skills\. Experienced in modeling in SolidWorks and 3D Printing\.
• Knowledge of ‘Lean’ manufacturing concepts & techniques, Pro\-E or equivalent CAD s/w, tool design, electronic packaging design, and MRS concepts\. Leadership experience\.

**Ability to Work Remotely:** Part\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.
**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
