Essential Responsibilities
• The Revenue Cycle Senior Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing financial performance by reviewing and analyzing open receivables to determine enhance the timing and quality of claim resolution, and identifying and proposing long-term, structural process improvements to training, procedures, and technology.
•Perform comprehensive reviews of patient accounts to identify and record the root cause(s) for outstanding balances, payment discrepancies, and claim denials (“Receivable Analysis”).
• The Receivable Analysis will include but is not limited to: analyzing account activity, payer responses, technology configuration and payer reimbursement trends.
•During the Receivable Analysis, the Senior Analyst will take necessary steps to resolve or improve the quality or resolution timeline of the accounts being reviewed, including working closely with the billing and collections teams to ensure timely follow-up on unresolved claims.
•The Senior Analyst will utilize Lean & Six-Sigma frameworks to organize and document the process improvement opportunities emanating from their reviews.
•The Senior Analyst will engage in review meetings with senior leadership multiple times per week to review findings and progress on the Receivable Analysis.
•The Senior Analyst will recommend short and long-term solutions for root causes of non-payment or delayed payment via the review meetings. As part of identifying or proposing these solutions, the Senior Analyst may collaborate with internal and external departments such as coding, billing, and patient services.
•The Senior Analyst will have a weekly production quota, that will be specifically determined based on the type and complexity of the account sample.
