What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC’s The Payments Risk and Governance department strengthens the organization’s control environment by managing vendor relationships, overseeing data management, supporting business continuity, and coordinating audits. They work with other business lines to ensure compliance, boost operational efficiency, and mitigate risk. As the Payments Risk and Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for coordinating vendor relationships, administrating data management activities, supporting the business continuity plan and operational resilience, and assisting with internal and external audits. You will work collaboratively across business lines to ensure compliance with governance standards, drive operational efficiency, and mitigate risks.

How You’ll Succeed
Vendor Management
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors supporting Payment Operations.
+ Track vendor performance against service-level agreements (SLAs) and escalate issues as needed.
+ Actively participate in the review of vendor SOC reports to ensure Payment Operations is fully informed and engaged in compliance matters.
+ Identify and evaluate any potential gaps related to vendor invoices and credits, supporting the resolution of discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial records.
Data Management
+ Support the Payment Operations’ Senior Records Officer (SRO) in overseeing recordkeeping within Payment Operations.
+ Communicate records requirements to all Records Retention Coordinators (RRC) within Payment Operations
+ Assist in performing all Records Control Self-Assessments and responds to requests for information about records
+ Support the preservation of records
+ Engage with the US Records Management Office (RMO) team in the management of Payment Operations’ records
Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Operations Resilience
+ Assist in keeping Payment Operations’ BCP plans up to date and complete
+ Coordinate and participate in BCP testing and incident response activities
+ Assist in monitoring and assessing the resilience of critical payment processes
+ Recommend and implement controls to address vulnerabilities
+ Review incidents, record what was learned, and help make ongoing improvements
Audit & Governance Support
+ Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external audits.
+ Compile and organize evidence to demonstrate compliance with controls, policies, and procedures.
+ Map business procedures to regulatory and audit requirements, ensuring gaps are identified and addressed.
+ Support risk assessments, control testing, and governance initiatives across the payments function.
Who You Are
You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field, and have at least two years of experience in Risk Management, Governance, or Payment Operations.

_At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of_ **_$61,500 - $76,000_** _for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
