    **Your New Role** …

     

    The BIT Manager for Post Production Technology is a technical management position responsible for managing the Atlanta, New York and Washington DC based Post Production engineering Tier 2 team. Their function is to empower their team in order to support the customers and underlying technology for the Post Production systems for News and Sports across WBD. They implement the tactical and day to day goals for the department, with input on the strategic and long term goals for the department. They manage a team of 12+ direct and indirect reports composed of supervisors, technical leads and engineers. This position has 24x7 responsibilities domestically and requires a broad understanding of post-production, broadcast, IT systems, ITIL practices, strong communication skills and employee development.

     

    BIT Managers work closely with their counterparts in other cities to create practical support and escalation plans, create institutional documentation, and provide engineering assistance to meet new business needs. They maintain close working relationships with key management partners and customers to ensure business service level agreements are maintained and resources are deployed judiciously.

     

    BIT Managers are expected to recruit, develop, coach, and lead the team successfully. They must be highly motivated, proven team leaders capable of working with executives, vendors and colleagues across disciplines. They maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including editorial, technical, 3rd party support teams, IT and technical operations, maintaining content and support services for post production use. They support all WBD sports and news brands and are expected to interface with other divisions to develop support and escalation plans and seek out opportunities to streamline, standardize and document production workflows. BIT Managers must be:

    + Prior Post, Broadcast, Transmission, and/or IT support experience

    + Demonstrated project management skills

    + Strong financial skills related to tracking capital budgets, forecasts, and operating budgets

    + Demonstrated ability to multi-task

    + Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, collaboration skills, organization skills and strong presentation skills

     

    You must possess a forward-thinking approach, anticipating challenges, initiating solutions, and actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes without solicitation. Exceptional client relationship building and willingness to maintain a flexible schedule in support of production changes are necessary. You will manage your staff to drive innovation and technology change management, set work priorities for yourself and staff, negotiate and influence desired outcomes, and remove hurdles impeding progress on projects and problems.

     

    Your Role Accountabilities…

    Day-to-Day

    + Oversee team members in all day-to-day work, including but not limited to: Skills development, Coaching, Customer Relationship Management (Incidents, Service Requests, Changes and Knowledge), Project and ticket prioritization

    + Oversee the technology infrastructure

    + Testing & Analysis for new products/features/versions

    + Vendor Case Management

    + Incident & Problem Management

    + Proactive and continuous process improvement

    + Weekly check-ins with key stakeholders

    Technical Leadership & Expertise

    + Develop & disseminate technical expertise; Improve Process and Efficiency; Foster innovation and Continuous Improvement; Support strategic initiative.

    + Problem Solving & Technical Guidance: Remove hurdles impeding the progress of solving problems; Provide technical direction and mentorship to staff, helping them to develop skill and knowledge.

    + Design & Implementation: Oversee the design, implementation, and support of technology infrastructure.

    + System & Workflow Documentation: Craft & review build diagrams, workbooks and/or flow charts illustrating high level system connectivity and workflow orchestration, providing direction on revisions.

    + Vendor Assessment: Review Vendor Risk Assessments and Product Security Reviews, providing direction on revisions.

    + Vendor Product Management: Work with vendors on delivering product features and enhancements

    Client and Partner Relationship Management

    + Client Service Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through personalized communication and proactive support.

    + Expectation Management: Clearly set, communicate, and meet the expectations of all stakeholders involved in a production and/or project.

    + Develop cadence of check-ins with customers partnering groups.

    Project Management and Planning

    + Project Planning & Oversite: Plan, define scope, monitor, review, and guide project to ensure it's aligning with goals and stays on track.

    + Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impede production or impact project timelines and outcomes.

    + Client Liaison: Consult with clients to understand their needs and ensure project deliverables meet their expectation.

    + Budget Management: Provide technology cost estimates; Create Bill of Materials

    + Resource Planning: Manage resource allocation to projects; Identify resource needs, writing business justification & costs to hire resources

    Staff Leadership and Development

    + Staff Management & Development: Manage the recruitment, retention, and performance of staff; Develop and mentor team members, helping them grow their skills and abilities towards their chosen career path.

    + Direction and Vision: Guide and motivate team members to meet the direction and vision of leadership.

    + Support & Resource Allocation: Provide necessary support, resources, and guidance for team members to succeed in their roles.

    + Problem Solving and Decision Making: Navigate difficult situations, solve problems and make decisions that benefit the organization

    Strategic Contribution

    + Strategic Planning & Goal Setting: Develop long-term business strategies and identifying potential opportunities and threats; Set realistic & achievable goals that align with the organizations vision; Create plans to implement these goals, including timelines and resource allocation.

    + Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality in support of the enterprise.

    Qualifications & Experience…

    + 4-7 years demonstrated expertise building and supporting integrated systems for media production, specifically in a Post Production environment.

    + MAM, PAM, SaaS, Edit Software, Edit Suites, VDI environments, Monitoring, Ticketing, Storage, Software deployment and pipeline

    + Experience delegating work to others, tracking work progress and monitoring individual(s) performance.

    + Bachelor's Degree preferred. Concentration related to Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Computer Science, or Technology Engineering disciplines preferred.

    + Proven ability to defuse difficult situations through active listening, empathy, clear communication and problem solving.

    + Proficiency in desktop computing and virtualized environments running Window/Linux/Mac operating systems; data storage and transfer fundamentals; and basic network infrastructure design and security best practices.

    + Proficiency with application and infrastructure monitoring and analytics

    + Accomplished at recognizing trends and patterns, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, and interpreting results.

    + Must be strong in client service orientation and ability to prioritize work, anticipate needs, and maintain composure in a fast moving & demanding environment.

    + Must be able to multi-task and assess urgency to set and manage priorities
