About the Role:

We are looking for a highly energetic, result-oriented, passionate, and hands-on Sr. Project Manager with a desire to join a growing team. The person should be self-starter, adaptable with attentive to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.
The company seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead Outside Plant (OSP) construction projects for data center deployments. This role involves overseeing multiple projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in OSP construction, especially in fiber network deployment and data center infrastructure, and the ability to manage complex projects, foster team growth, and communicate effectively. This position will work in close collaboration with project management and human resources to coordinate technician work force planning, resource dissemination and coordination, general oversight of field operations while providing technical direction to technicians, maintenance of safety standards, productivity, schedule, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and having a strong understanding of the union contract.
What You’ll Do:
•Must be willing to travel 50%+.
•Project Leadership and Management & execution: Oversee and drive the delivery of multiple data center OSP construction projects from start to finish. In conjunction with Site Project managers, collaborate, develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Monitor progress, track budget, and identify and address potential delays or cost overruns. Manage and coordinate with site teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders. Lead project meetings and provide status updates to leadership and clients as necessary. Help negotiate scopes, timelines, and payment terms with OSP internal resources, contractors and vendors. Provide technical expertise and participate in pre-construction activities, including constructability reviews, scheduling, and potentially pre-bid input. Oversee technician manpower scheduling, union contract administration (layoffs/recalls), timecard reporting, and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment. Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) on man loading, budgeting, and material staging.
•Site Management & Oversight: Conduct regular site visits based on project proximity, maintaining awareness of the full project scope. Communicate work order changes to the PM and assist in managing project close-out activities (testing, as-builts).
•Bidding and Procurement: Participate in the bid process for resources, equipment, and services, including contractor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis, and recommendations. Oversee purchase orders and/or work orders. Manage a dynamic and complex supply chain inventory of materials and logistics.
•Team Leadership and Development: Coach, mentor, and train site-based teams. Provide direction to supervisors, foreman, techs and subcontractors. Evaluate team performance.
•Reporting, Costing, and Budget Management: Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to track progress, schedule adherence, costing, and budget performance. Perform regular budget reviews and strategize on resource allocation.
•Risk Management and Mitigation: Conduct proactive risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies. Evaluate infrastructure to support future requirements and assist in mitigation strategies. Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards.
•Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary interface for the client. Assist with city or other authority approval processes and permitting. Communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and project teams.
•Safety & Compliance: Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all personnel and contractors, working with safety support. Strive for zero injuries, support foreman/leads with on-site safety meetings, review safety programs and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in startup meetings, and address and report safety hazards and incidents.
•Technical Review & Mentorship: Review plans and specifications for constructability and scheduling issues. Understand project specifications, scope of work, drawing packages, estimates, and budget setup. Potentially assist PMs with quantity takeoffs and pricing estimates. Mentor and train other employees.
•Documentation & Communication: Maintain the process for daily timecard reporting and follow up on late submissions. Report all safety incidents to relevant personnel (VP Operations, PM, safety personnel). Complete all required project documentation.
What You’ll Need:
•10 plus years related experience or equivalent role
•OHSA 30 certification
•Must meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
•Must meet all requirements to be properly badged and able to meet all client requirements to access the jobsite.
•Familiar with construction management software as needed.
•Proficiency with Microsoft office
•Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications
•Team player with field supervision, project management and company administration
staff
•Excellent communication skills.
•Good understanding of building systems.
•Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
•Ability to plan and organize a team effort.
•Good client management and goodwill building ability.
