As a Surgical Clinical, you will support fellow caregivers in performing various cardiac procedures. In this role, you will help facilitate a comfortable environment for patients, ensuring they are safe, secure and supported throughout treatment. This position offers an excellent way to directly improve outcomes, all while gaining extensive hands-on experience, developing as a nurse, meeting exciting new people and finding your place within an innovative healthcare setting.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 6:30am-5:00pm. This position requires days/nights/weekends/on-call/holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Assist surgeon and/or senior resident in thoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures.
+ Assist the surgeon during coronary anastomosis, implantation of prosthetic valves, resection of aneurysms, etc.
+ Function as the Surgical Scheduling Officer for the Department.
+ Review preoperative patient data with each staff surgeon.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Completed Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) course
+ Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification
+ Privileged by CCF Credentialing Board
+ Two years of Operating Room experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Certification
+ BSN

Physical Requirements:
+ Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
+ May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
+ Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision to normal range.
+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $36.80
Maximum hourly: $56.13
