WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Signal Timing Engineer!**

This position will work out of our **Tampa, FL** office.

Some of the high-level responsibilities include:

+ Develop, integrate, and fine-tune signal timing changes.

+ Provide supervision and directions for signal operational modifications.

+ Conduct field reviews when it is necessary to evaluate traffic operation issues as well as to resolve signal operation issues.

+ Ensure signal operation modifications are signed and sealed and properly documented in accordance with client policies and guidelines.

+ Prepare system performance reports.

+ Assist WSP’s signal timing team with signal/system retiming efforts.

+ Assist in reporting results and effects of signal retiming efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Civil Engineering.

+ Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.

+ Minimum 2 years of experience with Traffic Signal Operation, signal retiming and Traffic Signal Central Systems

+ Knowledge and understanding of traffic signal systems, traffic controller operation, Signal Central Systems, ITS and traffic engineering principles.

+ Knowledge of traffic signal analysis programs, such as SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.

The Signal Timing Engineer should have at the minimum, the following:

+ Good leadership and interpersonal skills.

+ Good communication skills and ability to work as a team member.

+ Ability to make independent decisions on a routine basis.

+ Ability to work alternate work schedules.

+ Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.

+ Ability to coordinate real time activities and priorities.
