Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

    $16.68 - $19.17 - $22.36

    OR Assistant – Full Time

    **Department:** Chestnut -Outpatient Surgical

    Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ only academic medical center and a national leader in healthcare quality and safety, is hiring a full-time **Operating Room (OR) Assistant** in Springfield, MA.

     

    As a vital member of our surgical team, you’ll help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for every patient—every time.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Support surgical room turnover and preparation

    + Clean and inspect medical equipment

    + Assist with patient transport and positioning

    + Maintain stock levels and ensure supply readiness

    + Support nurses and surgical teams during procedures

    + Help with patient pre-operative prepping in Heart & Vascular Services

    + Uphold infection prevention and safety standards

    + Participate in training and development activities

    What You’ll Need:

    Required:

    + High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

    + Ability to follow instructions and multitask in a fast-paced setting

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    + Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail

    Preferred:

    + 3–6 months of experience in a hospital, surgical, or clinical setting
