    Clean Harbors – Foster City, CA** is looking for a **Hazardous Materials Field Chemist** to join their safety conscious team. This person would be responsible for assisting in the collection, identification, and proper packaging and/or lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and spill response at client site in **Foster City, CA.

    + Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

    + Prepares computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications;

    + Performs inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance;

    + Inspects storage area for leaks or spills;

    + Inspects drums for compliance with labeling regulations;

    + Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance;

    + Samples and profiles of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing;

    + Physically demanding position; Must be able to lift 50 pounds;

    + Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.

     

    What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent required;

    + Chemistry background is required;

    + Lab Pack experience is preferred;

    + Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks;

    + Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;

    + Ability to interface with customers.
