Job Description
Please note, we are seeking 2nd shift candidates (Monday-Friday schedule from 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm or 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm and OT as needed). This is an entry-level (no experience needed) Powder Coating position in support of multiple production lines producing aircraft seats under direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Operates powder coat equipment proficiently with minimal supervision.
• Able to perform routine and continuous powder coat operations with minimal supervision.
• Reads and follows work orders or standard work to perform powder coat functions.
• Understands quality criteria and requirements for the powder coat area.
• Actively works with team members to promote teamwork.
• It takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety standards and procedures are met and complied with.
• Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
• Provides continuous improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.
Qualifications:
• High School Degree or equivalent
• 0-1 years relevant job experience in a powder coat shop or experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable
• Ability to mask, hang, powder coat, unhang & inspect parts under supervision
• Ability to wear required PPE (respirator) for a continuous length of time
• Ability to understand and perform job duties to meet quality criteria
• Assist in inventory management to ensure raw material and supplies are available
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & work instructions with some supervision
• Willing to perform hand and body warm-up exercises to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries
• Basic Mechanical knowledge
• Basic Computer Skills
• Basic Shop Math Skills
• Willing to cross-train in other areas
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Willing to perform hand and body warm-up exercises to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Must be able to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day
