    Specialist, Graphic Design Position Profile

     

    The Specialist, Graphic Design develops and designs complex multimedia visual communications—often under tight deadlines—including conference/event materials, internal marketing collateral, brochures, publications, and web page designs. This role involves conceptualizing visuals that meet client needs and preparing them for print, web, or multimedia platforms. Responsibilities include:

     

    + Selecting fonts and establishing typographic hierarchy

    + Adhering to style guides or corporate branding standards

    + Creating layouts, illustrations, and photo edits

    + Determining the use and integration of graphic elements

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    + Demonstrate excellent customer service and represent Ricoh professionally

    + Exhibit strong organizational, customer service, and follow-up skills

    + Translate new artistic concepts into visual media

    + Design using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver on both Mac and PC platforms

    + Provide graphic consultation and support to internal and external stakeholders

    + Produce print, packaging, advertising, point-of-purchase, and digital graphics

    + Ensure design quality meets customer expectations

    + Design and format multipage documents using style sheets and mapping

    + Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and design innovations

    + Apply creative problem-solving to meet cost, time, and client constraints

    + Comply with legal standards for duplication, printing, software, and font usage

    + Meet production schedules and deadlines

    + Collaborate with clients and staff to define project scope, budget, and timelines

    + Review proofs and coordinate with printers for final production

    + Manage digital asset libraries using asset management tools

    + Lead and coordinate the work of other designers as needed

    + Develop brand identities through logos, layouts, and color palettes

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience, and Certifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred, or equivalent coursework/certifications and experience

    + Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

    + Demonstrated design and layout expertise

    + Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

    + Experience in print production preferred

    + Project management experience is a plus

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Strong graphic design and layout capabilities

    + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

    + Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

    + Adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments

    + Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency

    + High attention to detail

    + Creative and deadline-driven mindset

    Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands

    + Office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels

    + Regular interaction with internal teams, clients, vendors, and the general public

    + Diverse work assignments requiring both precedent and innovative solutions

    + Physical activity may include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs

    + Moderate manual dexterity required for tools and equipment (e.g., keyboard, calculator)
