QUALIFICATIONS

+ 1-2 years of experience

+ Requires high school diploma or equivalent

+ Position demands the ability to use basic arithmetic and to interpret and adhere to specification requirements.

+ Basic math skills (i.e., decimals, percentages) are required to perform necessary job functions

+ An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers and dial indicators) and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

+ Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language

+ Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Shear orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications.

+ Set machine to level orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications.

+ Assist slitters to coil material.

+ Use lift equipment to move and position material as necessary.

+ Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.

+ Assure consistent product quality through established production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product.

+ Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures following the JSA procedures.

+ Maintain equipment in safe and efficient operation by working closely with maintenance department. Identify preventative maintenance routines.

+ Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

+ Must be able to lift and maneuver up to fifty (50) pounds.

+ Routinely operates/uses equipment, machines, and tools requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity

+ Must have 20/20 correctible vision

+ Routinely communicates face-to-face

+ Routinely performs duties in production floor environment

+ Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stopping

+ Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift

+ Must be able to wear protective gear
