General Function
The eCommerce Merchandising Coordinator plays a key role in optimizing the online shopping experience by collaborating cross-functionally with technology teams, content providers, department leadership, retail operations, and other stakeholders. This role manages and executes merchandising initiatives across all eCommerce platforms to drive engagement and conversion. The coordinator ensures product assortments, imagery, and content are accurate, up to date, and aligned with brand standards, while maintaining product availability and supporting ongoing site enhancements to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Online Merchandising Management: Coordinate and execute digital merchandising strategies across all eCommerce grocery platforms to ensure an accurate, appealing, and easy-to-navigate online shopping experience.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technology, category management, marketing, retail operations, and store teams to align digital merchandising with store promotions and overall business goals.
+ Product Content Accuracy: Ensure grocery product details (item descriptions, nutritional information, images, and pack sizes) are accurate, meet Hy-Vee and supplier standards, and optimized for search and conversion.
+ Promotional Execution: Set up and/or verify weekly ads, digital coupons, and special promotions online to align with in-store offers and marketing campaigns.
+ Seasonal & Category Refreshes: Manage online category updates, seasonal assortments, and featured product displays to highlight relevant grocery items.
+ Data & Performance Analysis: Track key performance metrics—such as item views, add-to-cart rates, and online sales—to identify merchandising opportunities and drive continual improvement.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Quality Assurance: Regularly audit online assortments for incorrect data, image issues, or discrepancies between in-store and online offerings.
+ Competitor Benchmarking: Monitor competitor grocery sites to identify emerging trends, pricing changes, and best-in-class merchandising approaches.
+ Process Improvement: Maintain accurate documentation of workflows, procedures, and best practices for digital merchandising and site management.
+ Support Marketing & Store Operations: Assist with coordinating product launches, category spotlights, and omnichannel campaigns to ensure consistent execution across digital and physical stores.
+ Project Participation: Support digital transformation projects, platform enhancements, and new feature rollouts as needed to improve the online grocery shopping experience.
+ Professional Development & Representation: Attend and actively participate in industry conferences, vendor meetings, and internal company meetings to stay informed on trends and represent the eCommerce merchandising function.
+ Additional Responsibilities: Perform other job-related duties, special projects, and assignments as required to support the success of the eCommerce and merchandising teams.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with content management systems (CMS) or product information management (PIM) tools preferred.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across cross-functional teams and external partners.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs and digital trends.
+ Ability to analyze data, interpret key performance metrics, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance online merchandising performance.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing large product catalogs and content updates.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to travel as needed within the Hy-Vee trade territory.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 2–3 years of related experience in eCommerce, retail merchandising, marketing, or a similar field preferred. Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, or a related discipline is a plus.

+ Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
+ Must be physically able to perform physical and sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 20 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
+ Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed in both retail and office settings where there is weekly pressure to meet deadlines.
