Controls Engineer with GFACS

Manpower Engineering is hiring a Controls Engineer to support our client, a global automotive supplier, onsite at an automotive manufacturing plant in the Dayton, OH area. Contract position expected to last 6 mo+.
What You’ll Do:
+ Design, program, and debug PLC and HMI systems, primarily using Rockwell Automation (RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
+ Interpret and implement GM GFACS standards and specifications.
+ Lead or support commissioning and start-up activities on-site at manufacturing facilities.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC logic, I/O communications, and network diagnostics.
+ Develop and update electrical and control schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
+ Interface with customers, project managers, electricians, and mechanical teams during project execution.
+ Maintain technical documentation, testing protocols, and project reports.
+ Provide support during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to system performance and engineering standards.
Qualifications:
+ Experience in industrial controls engineering at a GM facility (GM GFACS standards experience is a must have)
+ Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms: ControlLogix, CompactLogix, RSLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE/ME.
+ Proficient in commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting automation systems.
+ Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and other industrial networks.
+ Ability to read and create electrical/control schematics (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
+ US Citizenship required (due to site access requirements)
