    SUMMARY: The Dry Goods Receiver & Production Services Team Member supports both warehouse receiving operations and food production activities. This role ensures efficient receipt, storage, and inventory control of materials while also assisting in production line operations to maintain consistent product quality and output. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and cross-trained to perform in multiple departments as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Include the following; other duties may be assigned as needed:

    Receiving & Inventory Control

     

    + Prepare and organize storage areas prior to receiving activities; rotate stock as needed to maintain freshness and accuracy.

    + Coordinate with the shipping office clerk to assign dock doors and schedule deliveries.

    + Inspect all incoming pallets/bins for visible damage, defects, or signs of tampering.

    + Tag, label, and move products to designated storage areas following established procedures.

    + Maintain storage, racking, and product identification systems for traceability.

    + Complete all required Kayem paperwork and accurately enter product information into the Kayem AX system using a scanner.

    + Perform regular inventory checks, cycle counts, and product transfers within the AX system.

    + Report delivery discrepancies or inventory issues to buyers.

    + Work in freezer environments as required.

    + Utilize AX, Excel, and Word for reporting and recordkeeping.

    + Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary warehouse and production environment.

    + Comply with all HACCP, OSHA, USDA, SSOP, and GMP requirements.

     

    Production Support & Operations

     

    + Prepare and stage production materials and supplies to meet daily production needs.

    + Perform general production duties such as assembling, packing, stacking, and palletizing food products.

    + Occasionally work directly on the production line to support volume requirements.

    + Visually inspect products for quality and remove non-conforming items.

    + Assist in machine setup and preparation based on production schedules and specifications.

    + Assemble, inspect, and clean equipment parts before and after runs, following lockout/tagout procedures.

    + Conduct first-piece inspections and perform routine quality checks (e.g., weight, size, twist, casing).

    + Verify scale accuracy and machine settings; perform routine operational audits to ensure compliance.

    + Assist with disassembly, cleaning, and safe storage of equipment at the end of the shift.

    + Be cross-trained and capable of working effectively in multiple departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Minimum of three (3) months of related warehouse or production experience preferred.

    + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

    + Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and familiarity with Excel.

    + Basic computer skills and willingness to learn purchase order receiving and production processes.

    + Licensed to operate a pallet jack; ability to obtain forklift and high-lift certification.

    + Previous experience in food manufacturing or with food processing equipment preferred.

    + Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

    + Ability to work in cold, wet, and noisy environments (35–40°F) for the duration of the shift.

    + Flexible and open to working across multiple roles, shifts, or departments as required.

    Pay Range

     

    The base pay range for this role is $19.75 USD/Hourly

     

    The listed salary range represents Kayem Foods’ good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire pay ranges.

     

    Ranges are reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued wage growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for an annual wage review. Kayem Foods complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
