Description
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Workforce Development & Training team responsible for implementing and scaling our 3P labor model for launches and projects. In this strategic role, you will build and execute a comprehensive workforce strategy to support our ambitious growth plans. You will develop innovative training approaches leveraging partnerships and technology to optimize both effectiveness and cost efficiency.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive 3P labor strategy for launches and projects across the network
- Negotiate contracts with staffing agencies to ensure cost-effective access to qualified technical talent
- Build and manage hiring processes for technical workers to support installation and deployment activities
- Create and oversee training programs that efficiently prepare technicians for their roles
- Facilitate the transition of top-performing technicians to RME for building launches
- Plan labor requirements for project groups using the Field Execution Team model
- Establish and manage training partnerships with internal and external partners
- Identify and secure suitable training locations through strategic partnerships
- Lead the implementation of Virtual and Augmented Reality (AR/VR) technology to minimize space requirements and equipment costs
- Develop data-driven approaches to optimize labor headcount and spending
- Refine workforce staffing models based on building square footage, project timelines, and total spend
- Continuously innovate to reduce training lead times and infrastructure requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in workforce development, technical training, or related areas
- 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing complex programs
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor contracts and partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs for technical roles
- Strong understanding of labor planning and workforce optimization
- Experience with data-driven decision making and performance metrics
- Experience negotiation labor contracts with technical labor providers
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration or a related field
- Experience with 3P labor models in technical or industrial environments
- Background in AR/VR technology implementation for training purposes
- Experience scaling training operations to meet rapid growth demands
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and refine workforce models
- Knowledge of automation systems and technical requirements for installation teams
- Experience in fulfillment center operations or similar industrial environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
