    Position Summary:

    The Media Associate plays an essential role in supporting the daily operations and overall success of the Waverly Middle School Library. This position works closely with the Teacher Librarian, Mrs. Luck, to help create a welcoming, organized, and engaging space for students and staff. The Media Associate assists with everything from checking books in and out to helping prepare for lessons, events, and library programs.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Check books in and out for students and staff

    + Assist students in finding and locating books on the shelves

    + Process and prepare new books for circulation, including cataloging and labeling

    + Repair and maintain books as needed (gluing, taping, etc.)

    + Shelve returned materials and keep library shelves organized and tidy

    + Support the Teacher Librarian with a wide variety of tasks, such as:

    + Preparing lesson materials and organizing events

    + Creating digital graphics and signage

    + Managing spreadsheets and data logs

    + Communicating with teachers and pulling requested books

    + Assisting with our “Read 2 Go” program, fundraisers, and field trips

    + Helping take inventory of library supplies and materials

    + Guiding and supporting our Library Leader Lighthouse Leadership student team

    + Providing classroom or student support when needed
