ThisAttorney IIposition is a great opportunity for a professional who’s looking to provide consumer protection and public safety to all Idahoans. This position is a crucial component of the Division’s legal team by providing guidance on subject matter and participating in Board Meetings in the Occupational Licensing Bureau.
About the Agency : The Division of Occupational and Professional licenses provides consumer protection and public safety through its regulation of more than 250,000 licensees within more than 44 Boards and Commissions here in the great State of Idaho.

The Occupational Licensing Bureau includes the following Boards and Commissions:
• Accounting
• Acupuncture
• Athletic Commission
• Barbers and Cosmetology
• Chiropractic Physicians
• Counselors and Therapists
• Driving Businesses
• Genetic Counselors
• Long-term Care Administrators
• Massage Therapy
• Morticians
• Outfitters and Guides
• Shorthand Reporters
• Social Work Examiners
Example of Duties:
+ Act as legal counsel for the Occupational Licensing Bureau and as a member of the Division’s legal team.
+ Provide general counsel to the Boards and Commissions within the Bureau.
+ Provide legal advice to the Division staff with legal matters pertaining to the Bureau's statutory responsibilities.
+ Provide regular presentations to Boards and Commissions related to open meeting laws and their duties and responsibilities.
+ Review and provide comments on draft legislation, rules, and policies.
+ Assist in covering the business of other Bureaus when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Current member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar.
+ Considerable knowledge of trial procedures and rules of evidence.
+ Good knowledge of principles and practices of administrative law.
+ Experience:
+ Conducting legal research and drawing legal conclusions
+ Presenting oral argument before a court or hearing officer
+ Negotiating legal settlements
+ Eliciting information from a wide variety of individuals including hostile witnesses
