Job Title: Perception Hardware EngineerJob Description

Join our innovative team to integrate sensor systems into autonomous vessels. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to meet sensing and autonomy requirements, while supporting design, testing, and manufacturing phases. Ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

+ Work closely with the software and opto-mechanical teams to understand and meet hardware requirements.

+ Familiarize yourself with sensors and sensor requirements, focusing on structural design.

+ Investigate and reference applicable standards to inform requirements.

+ Integrate individual components such as radar systems, lidar systems, and communication systems into autonomous vessels.

+ Position radar systems to meet the requirements of autonomy and perception.

+ Conduct shock and vibration tolerance analysis.

+ Focus on integration development for the entire vehicle, not on sensor development.

+ Take ownership of the integration process and support manufacturing and production.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of experience in structural design, mechanical engineering, and design engineering.

+ Proficiency in CAD modeling and creating CAD drawings.

+ Experience in the integration of radar, LIDAR, antenna, and satellite communication systems.

+ Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including software, electrical, and autonomy teams.

+ Understanding of design cycles and documentation standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Clearance eligibility required (U.S. persons only).

+ Familiarity with RF systems and supporting full product lifecycle, including manufacturing.

+ Ability to work in ambiguous environments and define own requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
