    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    A Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Community Psychology, Ecological Psychology, or a related field; an established program of community and/or community health-related research that can contribute effectively to our graduate programs in Community and Health Psychology; a demonstrated record of (or strong promise for) external funding for research; an ability to teach and mentor a diverse student population at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Minimum Experience / Education:

    UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

    Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

    The successful applicant will be joining a diverse group of faculty who value teaching, research, social improvement via practice, and service. Preference will be given to candidates whose research program aligns with community psychology. The successful candidate brings:

     

    • A track record of research productivity (publications and external funding) that has engaged (or could engage) graduate and undergraduate students.

    • Evidence of (or promise for) extensive community-based partnerships and collaboration across sectors and/or within the field of Community Psychology.

    • Experience teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, and potential to teach courses in community psychology, applied research/program evaluation, prevention, and community interventions.

    • Demonstrated ability to provide research and professional mentorship to graduate students in the Health Psychology Ph.D. Program.

    • The capacity to provide service to the Community Psychology concentrations in the M.A. & Ph.D. programs, Health Psychology Ph.D. Program, Department of Psychological Science, College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences, and University.
