    We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to help us build world-class construction equipment. In this role, you’ll drive quality across field, manufacturing, suppliers, and new product launches — making sure every machine leaving our plant meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

     

    This position will require you to think with a systemic view that focuses on the customer and business needs. You will work collaboratively with the different stakeholders in operations, purchasing, technology and sales to ensure Shippensburg product always meets customer satisfactions. In your work you will embrace all three principles of the Volvo CE philosophy: Flow, Continuous Improvement, and Perform & Develop.

    Main responsibilities:

    + Support new product industrialization by defining quality control plans, inspection criteria and validation processes

    + Define and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) to ensure process stability and repeatability.

    + Provide quality input in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

    + Proficiency in data collection and analysis to support problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Lead problem solving and root cause analysis for supplier, manufacturing and field issues

    + Support supplier quality activities, including PPAP reviews, audits, and incoming inspection standards.

    + Mentor and coach engineers and technicians on quality tools, standards, and methodologies.

    + Collaborate with different functions in operations, engineering and suppliers

     

    Who are you?

    Required knowledge, experience and education:

    + Passion for product and process quality, problem solving, and customer satisfaction

    + A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or applicable field preferred

    + 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering within construction equipment or industrial manufacturing

    + Experience with welding and fabrication quality machining tolerances, and assembly operations

    + Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools

    + Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and process quality managementprinciples

    + Proficiency in GD&T and interpretation of complex engineering drawings.

    + Hands-on experience with root cause analysis tools and problem-solving methodologies.

    + Strong communication and teamwork skills – you make things happen.

    At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base salary range is set at $96,000 - $118,500, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
