Role Overview:
The Ethics and Compliance Specialist assists the Director in developing and overseeing programs that increase employee knowledge about identifying and managing agency compliance risks. You will research and remain current with applicable federal regulations, state laws, DCS policies, and trends. You will liase with employees to identify areas of noncompliance and to implement initiatives to promote a voluntary culture of compliance.
Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $34,216 but may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life:
Responsibliities inlcude:
+ Assist the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer by conducting risk assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing strategies to improve compliance with program objectives.
+ Support the Ethics and Compliance Program by assisting Ethics and Compliance teammates with:
+ Conducting internal audits to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
+ Conducting investigations of potential ethical, policy, and regulatory violations.
+ Establishing and managing secure communication channels to enable employees to report misconduct without fear of retaliation.
+ Assisting with advising employees on ethical issues and concerns.
+ Organize and manage a robust repository of Ethics and Compliance records, including leadership presentations, matter summaries, investigation reports, employee training, and intranet content.
+ Serve as a point of contact for, and collaborate with, various divisions such as Legal, Human Resources, Policy, Constituent Services, and Fraud to resolve concerns and ensure interdepartmental alignment.
+ Maintain working knowledge of all DCS policies and practices that have agency-wide applicability.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
+ Relevant work experience in ethics and compliance, or a related field such as legal, finance, and auditing.
+ Demonstrated ability to understand complex rules, laws, policies, and procedures and ability to apply and communicate the same. Strong work ethic and a passion for integrity.
+ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
+ Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects from concept through execution.
+ Strong ability to exercise both tact and persuasion in dealing with agency personnel at all levels.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
